Prayer Requests

AROUND THE WORLD AND BACK FROM YOUR CHAIR THROUGH PRAYER!

U.S. New Personnel Department – Please pray that God would raise up students, especially grad students, to come to our New Personnel Orientation held in June 2012 and in January 2013. Our global average team size is only four people! The need more partners to show that Jesus Christ liberates the captives is great! Pray for him to provide more workers.

Albania - Ask God to continue to "open doors" into the Roma community. Pray for Christar teams who are administering medical aid to those in impoverished areas of Albania. Ask God to open hearts as workers continue to reach out to those affected by last October’s earthquake in eastern Turkey.

Holland – Pray for God to bless the groundwork being laid for a Hindu background believer church. Pray that this small group of members would begin to participate in ministry.

India – Lift up the teams in India. Pray that the creative new projects being used would be successful. Also pray that the community transformation training the ladies had this past month would be effective.

Tunisia – There is an urgent need to pray for brothers and sisters in this area. Many are receiving threats from radials. While many avenues of social media help believers communicate, some in believers in Tunisia are being threatened online. Pray specifically for one new believer - who is still recovering from bodily injury.

Iraq – Ask Jehovah Jireh (our God who provides) to financially provide for the 15-20 Americans and Costa Ricans hoping to join our ministry in N.Iraq this summer.

China – Ask God to help Christar workers adapt to the culture without becoming indistinguishable from the lost whom they are seeking to be a witness.

Canada - Pray for Christar workers ministering in a fellowship of Kurdish refugees. This church is sponsoring a Kurdish man and his family who are fleeing their homeland to begin a new life; about $3000 in extra expenses, including visa and travel costs, will be generated by their flight for safety from their Muslim country. Let's pray for needs of this family on the run—for spiritual, emotional, practical and financial provision and for safety.

Philippines – Praise God for the rebuilding of homes and lives as needs are met and hearts are touched by the love of the Gospel message. Continue to lift up those who are still grieving the loss of loved ones and irreplaceable loss. Pray not only for the safety of workers and nationals, but also for the love and light of the Gospel to reach these least-reached people. (read more)

Japan – Pray for Christar workers to be an encouragement to Tomoko-san, a Japanese believer whose younger brother needs a bone marrow transplant. Because she is a match she has agreed to be his donor and will be undergoing a procedure in March. The actual transplant will take place in April. Pray for protection, and healing for both Tomoko-san and her brother. Pray that her life giving gift of marrow will be an example to her unbelieving brother of the incredible gift of eternal life in Christ.

France - Pray for friendships and opportunities for a new worker from Oklahoma doing his internship in France for Youth Ministries until late April. His gift in working with children and servant’s heart are a blessing. We are always thankful for extra hands to help reach the least-reached for Jesus!

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer for these needs! Be sure to check back for updates and new requests!

Stories from the Front

The Hand of God

As I thought of the troubling night before, including mosquitoes buzzing near my ear, a nightmare of impending death with narrow escape, and a sudden waking to what I thought had been a man’s voice in my apartment, I felt that it was part of the spiritual battle we face as believers. Remembering that the enemy is fully armed, but the One I serve is stronger, I prayed, asking the Father to strengthen me with His armor and protection. Then I left the house.
